Spot the Plot! | EFL Activity on Shakespearean Plots

Spot the Plot! is a fun, deductive EFL reading activity where learners read ten short plot summaries — but not all of them are what they seem. Some describe real Shakespeare plays, others are clever decoys.

Students must decide which summaries are genuinely Shakespearean, and (if they can!) try to identify the play. Each summary draws on common themes like revenge, mistaken identity, betrayal, and doomed love — perfect for exploring Shakespeare’s world while boosting reading comprehension and inference skills.
