Perfect Match | EFL Role Play Game Using Speed-Dating Conversations

Perfect Match is a fast-paced EFL speaking activity that helps learners build fluency, active listening, and conversational confidence. Using character cards, students take on different personalities and move through a series of short, timed conversations in a speed-dating style format.

Each learner must ask and answer questions based on their assigned profile, then decide who their “perfect match” is based on shared interests. It’s an effective task for practising question formation, listening skills, and spontaneous interaction.

This resource works particularly well in lessons focused on personal information, relationship topics, or social communication skills.
