Young people in Britain get involved in everything from sport and music to volunteering, STEM clubs and outdoor projects. This reading text introduces learners to that world of youth clubs and free-time activities in the UK, highlighting how teenagers spend time, build skills and make friends.

After reading, students complete a club-rules matching task, linking each set of rules to the correct club. They then create their own youth club idea, complete with rules, activities and a simple pitch, building vocabulary, cultural awareness and creative thinking in the process.
